MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin men's basketball team earned a home victory over Edgewood in a rare Monday night matchup, improving to 4-4 overall and 2-1 in NACC play.
Edgewood held a 31-23 advantage with under two minutes remaining in the first half, but senior
Logan Landers (Cedarburg, Wis.) closed the frame with six unanswered points to pull CUW within two at the break.
With eight minutes to play, the Falcons seized control with an 11-0 run to build an eight-point lead. Junior
Jacob Christjohn (Milwaukee, Wis.) fueled the surge with back-to-back three-pointers, shifting momentum in favor of the Royal Blue and Grey.
CUW protected its lead down the stretch, scoring its final 10 points from the free-throw line to close out the win.
Landers capped the night with 28 points and 11 rebounds, securing his seventh straight double-double. He was dominant on both ends, shooting 8-of-10 from the floor and a perfect 12-of-12 at the line. Junior
Casey Verhagen (Sheboygan, Wis.) added 24 points and a team-high three assists.
Christjohn contributed a career-high 14 points, going 3-of-5 from beyond the arc and 5-of-6 at the stripe. He also tallied three steals, tying junior
Javanni Blackman (Milwaukee, Wis.) for the team lead. Freshman
JD Davison anchored the defense with three of the Falcons' four blocks.

CUW now hits the road for its next two contests. The Falcons travel to NCAA Division II Northern Michigan for an exhibition on Thursday, Dec. 11, at 6:30 p.m. CT, before returning to NACC play at Aurora on Sunday, Dec. 14, with tipoff moved to 3 p.m.
