Women's Hockey Collects Program-Best All-Conference Haul

MEQUON, Wis. – On Thursday afternoon, the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) announced its major award winners, All-Conference and All-Freshman Teams for the 2024-25 women's hockey season. The Concordia Wisconsin women's hockey program had a program record of six honorees, including a program-record four selections named to the All-NCHA Team with Brooke Gibson, Mackaylan McGown, Brenna-Grace Dittmer, and Kami McCardle.  CUW had landed two selections to the All-Freshman Team in Taylor Heleniak and Scout Stromberg.

"It is a tremendous honor for our players to be recognized as All-Conference and All-Freshman members," said Concordia Wisconsin women's hockey head coach, Steve Fabiilli. "This accolade is a reflection of the unwavering hard work and dedication they have demonstrated throughout the season. Earning these prestigious honors highlights their exceptional individual talents, but it would not have been possible without the collective support and sacrifice of the entire team. This is a proud moment not only for each of these players but also for us as a coaching staff to witness their commitment and effort being rightfully celebrated."

Brenna-Grace Dittmer

A sophomore defender from Chatham-Kent, Ontario, Brenna-Grace Dittmer is claiming her first NCHA honor. Dittmer finished eighth in scoring for defenders with 11 points in the conference. Her four goals rank second in the NCHA for defenders and she also added seven assists.

Brooke Gibson

The senior captain from LaSalle, Ontario, Brooke Gibson is securing her first NCHA honor. Gibson finished conference play fourth in points with 24 with nine goals and 15 assists. Her three game-winning goals led the conference. Gibson's 15 assists rank fourth and her nine goals rank seventh.

Kami McCardle

A senior goaltender from Jackson, Wisconsin, Kami McCardle is appearing on her first NCHA team. McCardle led the conference with four shutouts in NCHA play and her seven victories are the second-most in the NCHA. In NCHA play, she had 312 saves and a 0.937 save percentage that ranked third. The Jackson native posted a 1.89 goals-against average in the NCHA.

Mackaylan McGown

A sophomore forward from Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, Mackaylan McGown is claiming her second honor from the NCHA after claiming All-Freshmen honors in the 2023-24 season. McGown dominated the faceoff circle and finished with 39 more faceoff victories than the next closest with 270. Her 15.00 faceoff victories per game also led the NCHA. She finished 10th in scoring for NCHA forwards with 19 points eight goals and 11 assists.

Taylor Heleniak

A freshman forward from Mercer, Wisconsin, Taylor Heleniak is collecting her first honor from the NCHA. Heleniak finished NCHA play with 10 points on four goals and six assists.

Scout Stromberg

A freshman defender from Tomahawk, Wisconsin, Scout Stromberg is snagging her first conference accolade. Stromberg finished as one of the strongest defenders in the NCHA in the 2024-25 campaign. She finished 11th in scoring for all defenders with seven points on three goals ranked sixth and four assists ranked 11th among defenders. Stromberg finished second in scoring for freshmen defenders.

St. Norbert swept the major awards for the 2024-25 season with Courtnie Hogan as the Player of the Year, Sydney Zurawik as the Co-Freshman of the Year with Emma Simon of Adrian and A.J. Aitken as the Coach of the Year.

The four All-Conference selections are tied for the most in the NCHA, with Adrian, who had Courtney Ben, Riley Johnson, Maya Roy, and Kathryn Truban. St. Norbert had three with Courtnie Hogan, Natalie Hogan and Sydney Zurawik and Trine had one with Annie Kindseth. The two All-Freshmen selections also lead the pack, tied with St. Norbert posting Tristan Wicklund and Sydney Zurawik. Adrian and Trine also landed one honoree each with Emma Simon and Annie Kindseth.

The teams are voted on by the league's head coaches.

The Falcons had a program-best record in the NCHA at 13-4-1 and a third-place finish.
