RIPON, Wis. – With the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Indoor Track & Field Championships set for February 28 and March 1, the Concordia University Wisconsin men's track and field team traveled to the Ripon Red Hawk Invite, continuing their preparation and fine-tuning for the upcoming NACC Championships.
As a team, the Falcons finished with 15 points, securing eighth place overall, while UW-Oshkosh dominated the meet with 193 points to claim the title.
In the 60-meter hurdles, CUW earned seven team points, with junior Brandon Donahue (Hubertus, Wis.) and sophomore Zach Wendland (Green Bay, Wis.) finishing fifth and sixth, respectively. Donahue clocked in at 9.15 seconds, while Wendland followed closely behind with a time of 9.27 seconds.
In the 200-meter race, sophomore Se'Korrey Thomas (Punta Gorda, Fla.) led the Falcons with a time of 24.98 seconds, showcasing his speed and consistency.
Freshman Lucas Mathes (Brillion, Wis.) had a strong showing in the 400-meter, finishing with a time of 54.71 seconds, leading the Falcons in the event.
In the 800-meter, senior Jaden Schultz (Havana, Ill.) achieved a personal best with a time of 4:31.61, continuing his strong season.
Wendland also performed well in the high jump, clearing 1.85 meters to secure third place and earn valuable team points.
In the field events, freshman Kam'Ron Pierre (Santa Clarita, Calif.) posted the Falcons' top long jump mark of 6.23 meters.
Mathes added to his impressive performance with a seventh-place finish in the triple jump, leaping a distance of 12.95 meters to score two team points.
In the shot put, junior John Kutner (Muskego, Wis.) led CUW with a personal-best throw of 11.19 meters.
Freshman Clayton Nichols (Oconomowoc, Wis.) also set a personal best in the weight throw, recording a distance of 12.51 meters to lead the Falcons in that event.
The Falcons will now turn their attention to the Parkside Classic as they continue to build momentum heading into the NACC Championships.
