Falcons Take Third at Private College Championships

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Falcons delivered a strong performance in their third outdoor meet of the season at the Wisconsin Private College Championships, held at Historic Raabe Stadium. With a total of 112 points, they finished second overall, trailing only Carthage, which took first place with 187 points.

A standout moment came in the 4x100 meter relay, where the team of senior Maya Hielscher (Macomb, Mich.), freshman Jacey Read (Carbondale, Colo.), freshman Natiya Ballard (Stoughton, Wis.), and senior Sabrina Moore (Park Ridge, Ill.) clinched first place with a time of 49.77 seconds.

Junior Ainara Sainz de Rozas (Madrid, Spain) also shone, taking first place in the 1500-meter with a time of 4:46.06.

The Falcons dominated the 100-meter hurdles, claiming two of the top three spots. Hielscher earned gold with a time of 15.22 seconds, while sophomore Emma Eilertson (Mukwonago, Wis.) took third with a time of 15.94 seconds.

Hielscher continued to lead the Falcons in the field events, securing a top finish in the long jump with a leap of 5.07 meters. Eilertson also excelled in the high jump, taking first place with a clearance of 1.53 meters.

Sophomore Olivia Ebel (Mt. Clemens, Mich.) added points for the Falcons in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing fourth with a time of 1:09.64.

The team also made waves in the 100-meter dash, with Read finishing first in 12.56 seconds and Moore placing sixth at 13.33 seconds.

In the 800-meter, the Falcons earned more top finishes, as junior Melanie Arvis (Berwyn, Ill.) took second place with a time of 2:23.51, and junior Danielle Van Grinsven (Appleton, Wis.) placed fourth with a time of 2:25.30.

The 4x400-meter relay team, consisting of Ebel, Arvis, freshman Elizabeth Backus (West Bend, Wis.), and Van Grinsven, placed fourth with a time of 4:21.13.

Sophomore Paige Schreiber (Mukwonago, Wis.) recorded a team-best 10.31 meters in the shot put.

In the triple jump, freshman Amiyah Jackson (Beaver Dam, Wis.) earned a top-three finish with a mark of 10.72 meters.

The Falcons continued to score points in the pole vault, with sophomore Caitlyn Weitzel (Fallston, Md.) and junior Kate Kotula (Wyomissing, Pa.) each clearing 3.00 meters to place fourth and sixth, respectively.

Junior Kailey Ramaker (Cedarburg, Wis.) added valuable points in the hammer throw, finishing eighth with a distance of 36.19 meters, and also placed fourth in the discus with a mark of 35.92 meters.

Senior Jamie Maas (West Bend, Wis.) rounded out the Falcons' strong performances, taking third in the javelin with a distance of 31.12 meters.

The Falcons will next compete at the UW-Platteville Invitational, continuing their strong outdoor season.
