MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's lacrosse team shined in the rain and snow on Wednesday evening at Fitting Field. The Falcons improved to 4-7 on the year and to 3-2 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference with a 20-5 victory over Lawrence.
Junior Katelyn Cardinale (Mount Laurel, N.J.) dunked the ball past the keeper off a pass from senior Kami McCardle (Jackson, Wis.) to start the scoring on Wednesday.
The Vikings tied the game 30 seconds later.
Sophomore Emily Robertson (Canton, Mich.) spun past her defender to give the Falcons the lead and never gave it back.
With 1:30 left in the first quarter, Katelyn Cardinale struck again with her second goal of the game off a pass from sophomore Carolyn Bourgeault (Buffalo, N.Y.) for a woman-up goal.
The Falcons struck again in the final minute of the quarter when Carolyn Bourgeault snuck the ball past the keeper off a feed from senior Natalie Mackrell (Florissant, Colo.) to give the Falcons a 4-1 lead after 15 minutes.

The Vikings took a chunk out of the Concordia lead with back-to-back goals.

The Falcons added to the lead after Emily Robertson sent the Vikings through the spin cycle and she scored a goal off a pass from Katelyn Cardinale.
Katelyn Cardinale scored the final goal of the first half with another low roller off a Natalie Mackrell assist to put the Falcons up 10-4 at halftime.
Carolyn Bourgault broke through the Lawrence defense for a goal in the first minute of the third quarter.
A minute later, senior Ava Karlov (Naperville, Ill.) sprinted past a pair of defenders for her first goal of the game.
Carolyn Bourgealut scored two goals off two assists from Emily Robertson to start the running clock with 11:23 left in the third quarter.
A minute later, Kami McCardle found the back of the net again with an assist given to Natalie Mackrell.
Katelyn Cardinale closed the third quarter scoring with 5:56 left in the quarter off the third assist of the quarter to Emily Robertson.
Freshman Sophia Whiteaker (Normal, Ill.) scored in the first minute of the fourth quarter off a beautiful pass from Emily Robertson.
Two minutes later, Katelyn Cardinal scored again off a pass from Ava Karlov.
Ava Karlov blasted the back of the net on a free-position shot with 9:47 left.
Freshman Anna Washburn (Suffield, Conn.) scored her first collegiate goal with a woman-up goal in front of the crease with a Natalie Mackrell assist.
Lawrence scored a woman-up goal in the final minute of the game, but the Falcons got the last laugh on the rainy, snowy evening.
Katelyn Cardinale led the contest with seven goals and two assists for nine points. The New Jersey native reached 100 career ground balls and 100 draw controls.

The 20 goals are the most for the Falcons on the season. The 28 caused turnovers is tied for a season high.
The Falcons will face Lake Forest in Illinois on Saturday morning.
