The first half was neck and neck between the two squads until the Falcons reach the back of the net in the second quarter. Freshman
Kaitlin Baylen scored the first goal of the season for CUW, with senior
Katelyn Cardinale credited with the assist.
The Pioneers bounced back in the second half, tying the game at one in the 34th minute. The Falcons earned back their lead later in the quarter with a goal from freshman
Charlie Coln from
Anna Washburn. Sophomore
Hannah Lawson also reached the back of the net, unassisted, in the last minute of the contest.
Carlijn van der Bend protected the goal all 60 minutes of the match-up earning one save against one goal allowed.
CUW begins a stretch of four road games, beginning with a match-up against Washington & Jefferson. The game is set begin at 3:30 p.m. CT in Washington, Pa.
