CRESSON, Pa. – The Concordia University-Wisconsin men's soccer team opened up their season with a matchup against Mount Aloysius. The Falcons fell 1-4 to the Pennsylvania team.
After being down 0-2 for a majority of the first half the Falcons pushed back against the Mounties offense in the final two minutes of the half. In his first collegiate game, freshman
Jonah Kinsey came off the bench and score in the 43
rd minute to close in on Mount Aloysius. Fellow freshman
Aidan Cometa was awarded an assist on the play.
The Mounties extended their lead in the second half with two more goals to end the game.
At the end of the contest, the Falcons had a total of nine shots, four being on goal.
Mateo Nabben and
Nevin Volarath led the way with two shots each.
CUW plays Lawerence on Monday in nearby Appleton, Wis. The Labor Day contest is slated to begin at 7:30 p.m.
