APPLETON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin men's soccer team racked up the mileage on Labor Day weekend and battled at Lawrence on Monday night at the Banta Bowl. The Falcons and Vikings played to a 0-0 tie under the lights. Concordia is now 0-1-1 on the year.
The Falcons had the first look of the evening in the first minute as they transited down the field. Sophomore Mateo Nabben (Belle River, Ontario) blasted a shot that just missed left.
Concordia ended the first half with a pair of shots from sophomore Nevin Volarath (Algonquin, Ill.) and Mateo Nabben that were saved.
Senior Enrique Torres (Eau Claire, Wis.) came up with a save for the Falcons in the 50th minute to keep the Vikings scoreless.
The Falcons posted the final five shots of the match, but could not connect.
Concordia posted a 10-2 advantage in shots on Monday night.
Nathan Volarath led the contest with three shots.
The Falcons open the home portion of the schedule on Sunday against Wisconsin-Stout.
