MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's tennis team fell to Illinois Tech in a NACC matchup Tuesday afternoon. The Falcons were defeated, 1-6, and are now, 3-4, on the year and, 3-3, in the conference.
CUW's sole point came during the doubles matches. At No. 1, freshman
Claire Kelley (Dubuque, Iowa) and senior Maddie Bradshaw (Sheboygan, Wis.) defeated their opponent, 6-4. Freshman
Abigail Haley (Frohna, Mo.) and sophomore
Katelyn de Guzman (Belvidere, Ill.) played at No. 3 and won their match in a close, 7-5, finish.
In singles, Kelley forced a third set against the Hawk's Martyna Kalinowska, 6-4, 1-6, 0-1. At No. 6, freshman
Taylor Weiner (Bakersfield, Calif.) also forced a third set after going, 6-1, 2-6, 0-1.
The Falcons return to the CUW Tennis Courts on Wednesday, Oct. 1 with match against Concordia Chicago. Action is slated to begin at 4 p.m.
