No. 3 St. Norbert Escapes with a Weekend Split

DE PERE, Wis. – The Falcons closed their weekend series on Saturday night at No. 3 St. Norbert. The Green Knights split the series with a 2-1 victory to improve to 11-5-1 on the year and 7-2-1 in the Norther Collegiate Hockey Association.

The Green and Gold struck first on Saturday with a goal halfway through the first period.

St. Norbert then posted a 14-4 advantage in shots in the second period, but the Concordia defense kept it a one-score game.

The Falcons scored at the 8:30 mark of the third period when freshman Matt Green (Barrie, Ontario) stole the puck and raced towards the net, where he beat the SNC goalie.

SNC broke the tie with a goal with 1:24 left in the contest, CUW was able to apply some late pressure, but could not equalize.

St. Norbert held a 32-24 advantage in shots on Saturday night.

Sophomore Cameron Hrdlicka (Calgary, Alberta) finished with 30 saves on the night.

Both teams exit the weekend with three points with the split.

Concordia will face another tough test next weekend against No. 2 Aurora. The Falcons will host the Spartans on Friday night.
