CHICAGO – The Concordia Wisconsin men's track and field team competed at the 2026 Aurora Grand Prix on Saturday, hosted by Aurora University at the Dr. Conrad Worill Track and Field Facility. The Falcons faced a deep field of 23 teams, including NACC opponents Aurora, Benedictine, Concordia Chicago, Dominican, and Wisconsin Lutheran.
Junior
Kyle Steiner delivered a strong performance in the 200-meter dash. Steiner placed seventh while clocking 22.38 on the banked track. Competing in multiple events, Steiner also recorded a personal best in the high jump, clearing 1.76 meters to place 15th, and made his collegiate debut in the long jump, reaching 5.94 meters.
In the 800-meter run, junior
Isaiah Lubner (Campbellsport, Wis.) finished eighth with a time of 1:52.63, shattering his own program record. The performance currently ranks as the fifth-fastest time in Division III this season. Freshman
Kaden Sanfelippo (Glendale, Wis.) added a 19th-place finish in 2:02.92.
The Falcons saw solid efforts in the 60-meter hurdles, led by senior
Brandon Donahue (Hubertus, Wis.), who placed 16th with a time of 9.26. Junior
Zach Wendland (Green Bay, Wis.) followed closely, finishing 20th in 9.52.
In the pole vault, freshman
Cooper Parent (O'Fallon, Ill.) cleared a career-best 3.70 meters to place 11th. Wendland also competed in the event, finishing 17th with a mark of 3.25 meters.
Sophomore
Lucas Mathes (Brillion, Wis.) earned a ninth-place finish in the triple jump, recording a leap of 13.10 meters.
The Concordia throwers were led by sophomore
Clayton Nichols (Okauchee, Wis.), who placed 15th in the weight throw with a personal-best mark of 12.92 meters. Sophomore
Dayne Baker (Watertown, Wis.) turned in the top Falcon performance in the shot put, finishing 27th with a throw of 11.47 meters.
The Falcons return to action next weekend at the Squig Converse Open + Multi, hosted by UW-Whitewater. The two-day meet begins Friday, Jan. 30, with multi events starting at 11 a.m. Friday, followed by individual events on Saturday at the D.L.K. Kachel Fieldhouse in Whitewater, Wis.
