Falcons Soar Past Carroll, 20–2, in Season Opener

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin men's lacrosse team opened its 2026 season in dominant fashion, defeating Carroll University, 20–2, on Wednesday night. The Falcons improved to 4–0 all-time against the Pioneers, and the 18-goal margin marked their largest victory since a 23–4 win over Northland College in March 2025.

CUW seized control midway through the second quarter and never relented, scoring 14 unanswered goals over the final 38 minutes. The Falcons tallied seven goals in the fourth quarter alone, including four on man-up opportunities, finishing 7-for-8 with the extra man.

Junior Bryce Petersen (Waukesha, Wis.) led the offensive onslaught with six goals, tying his career high and recording the 16th hat trick of his career. He scored three times in the second quarter and finished with a team-best 13 shots, 12 on goal.

Freshman Kaleb Weikel (Andover, Minn.) added a hat trick of his own, scoring both CUW goals in the opening quarter and completing the three-goal effort early in the second. In all, 12 Falcons found the back of the net, including freshmen Brayden Wilson (Pueblo West, Colo.), Gaje Germundson (Nisswa, Minn.), Will Webber (Buffalo, Minn.), Marko Adamovic (Park Ridge, Ill.), and Weikel. Wilson also distributed a team-high five assists.

Defensively, senior Preston Meier (Owatonna, Minn.) and sophomore Parker Lewis (Omaha, Neb.) each caused two turnovers. At the faceoff X, senior Frank Trewyn (Mukwonago, Wis.) went 10-for-16, while Jaxon Niemeyer was 6-for-8. Freshmen Zeki Wacker (Monument, Colo.) and Nathan Beyer (Duluth, Minn.) each won their lone draw.

The Falcons travel to face Kalamazoo College on Saturday in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The nonconference matchup — just the third all-time meeting between the programs — is scheduled for 12 p.m. (ET) at MacKenzie Field.
