MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin ACHA men's hockey team opens play at the American Collegiate Hockey Association Men's Division II Central Regionals on Friday night.
The Falcons are one of 16 teams to qualify for the regional tournament and enter the weekend as the No. 9 seed. CUW will face conference rival Purdue Northwest in the semifinal round.
The regional format changed this season, expanding to include the top 16 teams in the region. To qualify for nationals, a team must win two games over the weekend. Following Friday's contests, the bracket will reseed, with the highest remaining seed facing the lowest remaining seed on Saturday.
Friday's matchup will mark the 12th all-time meeting between the two programs. The Falcons hold a 7-4-0 advantage in the series history. The teams split their regular season meetings this year, with each squad earning a road victory.
This appearance marks the fourth time the Falcons have qualified for the ACHA Central Region Tournament. CUW owns a 4-1-0 all-time record at regionals and advanced to the ACHA National Tournament in both 2023 and 2024 after defeating teams from Minnesota in the championship games.
