OSHKOSH, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin men's track and field team tuned up for the postseason at the UWO Titan Challenge, hosted by UW-Oshkosh. The meet served as the Falcons' final competition before next weekend's NACC Indoor Championships.
Junior
Kyle Steiner delivered a standout performance, placing third in the 60 meters and second in the 200 meters. After qualifying third in the 60-meter prelims, Steiner broke seven seconds in the final with a personal-best 6.99 to secure third overall. The mark ranks second in program history, just 0.02 shy of the school record. He followed with another PR in the 200 meters, clocking 22.35 to set a new program record, surpassing the previous mark of 22.40 set by Rick Hutchins in January 2006.
Junior
Isaiah Lubner (Campbellsport, Wis.) captured the 800 meters title in 1:53.45, winning by just over half a second.
In the triple jump, sophomore
Lucas Mathes (Brillion, Wis.) placed third with a leap of 12.81 meters.
Sophomore
Dayne Baker (Watertown, Wis.) led the Falcon throwers, finishing 12th in the shot put (13.88m) and 17th in the weight throw (13.20m), with both marks representing his top throws of the day.
CUW now turns its focus to the NACC Indoor Championships, set for Feb. 27–28 at Ripon College inside the Willmore Center.
