MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin men's volleyball team fell to Dominican in straight sets Tuesday night at home. With the loss, the Falcons drop to 4-15 overall and 3-6 in NACC play.
The Stars continue to hold the advantage in the all-time series, leading 11-1 and winning the last four meetings.
The opening set began with both teams trading points early before Dominican found its rhythm offensively and pulled away, carrying the momentum through the remainder of the match. Concordia hit .115 in the first set with seven kills on 26 attempts.
Sophomore Owen Koloszy (Carol Stream, Ill.) led the Falcons with six kills, while classmate
Parker Butterfass (Shakopee, Minn.) added three. Fellow sophomore
Reid Scott (Chandler, Ariz.) recorded Concordia's lone service ace of the match in the second set. Sophomore
Hayden Hurley (Gilbert, Ariz.) dished out 12 assists and added two kills on four attempts.
Defensively, senior
Tate Miller (Anthem, Ariz.) led CUW with six digs, while Koloszy finished with five and Scott added four. Freshman
Cooper Dammann (Altadena, Calif.) served as the primary libero alongside classmate
Drew Nelson (Oak Creek, Wis.), while freshman
Josh Valentine (Euless, Texas) came into the third set and tallied two digs.
The Falcons return to action Saturday when they travel to Wisconsin Lutheran. First serve is scheduled for noon in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.
