Falcons Record Multiple Wins at North Central First Chance Invite

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The Concordia University Wisconsin men's track and field team competed in day two of the North Central College First Chance Invite on Saturday, recording multiple event wins and several personal best performances.
 
Junior Kyle Steiner had a standout day on the track, winning the 100m dash with a time of 10.83. He followed that performance with another victory in the 200m, clocking a personal-record time of 21.54. The junior also competed in the long jump, placing 12th with a mark of 6.35m.
 
Junior Zach Wendland (Green Bay, Wis.) found success in the hurdle events. He first placed fourth in the 110m hurdles with a personal-best time of 16.28 before claiming first in the 400m hurdles after finishing in 56.50.
 
Junior Isaiah Lubner (Campbellsport, Wis.) captured another win for the Falcons in the 800m, crossing the finish line in 1:54.86 to win the event by more than a second.
 
In the jumps, senior Seth Stolz (Traverse City, Mich.) earned a first-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 6.69m. Freshman Josh Kribs (Green Bay, Wis.) recorded a personal best in the triple jump, placing ninth with a distance of 12.92m.
 
In the pole vault, freshman Cooper Parent (O'Fallon, Ill.) cleared 3.80m for the first time in his career, finishing seventh.
 
Sophomore Dayne Baker (Watertown, Wis.) posted a pair of strong performances in the throws, placing fifth in the discus with a personal-best mark of 42.95m after earlier taking sixth in the shot put with another PR of 13.83m. Junior Luke Witte (Monroe, Mich.) led the Falcons in the javelin, finishing 11th with a throw of 39.65m.
 
Two Falcon relay teams competed in the 4x400m relay. The "A" team of Brock Roseman (So.-Pueblo, Colo.), Wendland, Lucas Mathes (So.-Brillion, Wis.), and Lubner claimed first place with a time of 3:25.79. The "B" team—Victor Watson Jr. (So.-Cypress, Texas), Cory Bahl (Fr.-Littleton, Colo.), William Hemling (Fr.-Beaver Dam, Wis.), and Josh Sipes (Jr.-Charleston, Ill.)—finished seventh with a time of 3:35.79.

FRIDAY
DISTANCE FLING
In the 1500m, freshman Liam Wielert (Crown Point, Ind.) led the Falcons with a 16th-place finish, clocking a time of 4:18.51. Classmate Kaden Sanfelippo (Glendale, Wis.) also competed in the event, placing 24th with a time of 4:22.01.
 
Fellow freshman Jackson Huebner (Watertown, Wis.) and sophomore Eric Krause (Jackson, Wis.) also ran the 1500m, finishing in 4:38.75 and 4:43.77, respectively.
 
Freshman Carter Bonlender (Eldorado, Wis.) and junior Riley Johnson (Cedar Lake, Ind.) competed in the 3000m steeplechase. Bonlender finished 16th with a time of 10:56.69, while Johnson placed 18th in 12:22.84.
 
In the 5000m, junior Mason Everts (Saukville, Wis.) posted the Falcons' top performance of the event, finishing 34th with a personal-best time of 16:33.05.
 
FIRST CHANCE INVITE
The men's throwing squad competed in the hammer throw on day one of the meet. Senior John Kutner (Muskego, Wis.) led the Falcons with a season-best mark of 42.54m.
 
Sophomores Dawson Kolka (Sanford, Mich.) and Hayden Kettman (Beecher, Ill.) each recorded personal-best throws, finishing 13th and 17th, respectively. Kolka posted a mark of 37.58m, while Kettman reached 34.18m.
 
The Falcons return to action Thursday at the Green & White Invite, hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran.
