Melanie Arvis Crowned NACC Track Athlete of the Meet

MEQUON, Wis. – The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) honored Melanie Arvis on Wednesday morning for her performance this past weekend at the NACC Indoor Track & Field Championships.

Arvis earned the title of NACC Track Athlete of the Meet after a dominant showing in Ripon.

A senior from Berwyn, Illinois, Arvis is claiming the honor for the first time in her career. The pride of Berwyn proved to be the gold standard at the conference championships, sweeping the distance events.

She opened the meet on Friday by capturing the 5,000-meter run title in 18:24.88. Arvis followed with a victory in the mile, crossing the finish line with a career-best time in 5:10.60. She completed the distance sweep by winning the 3,000-meter run in 10:46.42.

Arvis becomes the fifth Falcon in program history to earn the distinction and the first since Nora Imperl did so in 2017. Samantha Gries previously claimed the honor three consecutive times in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
