GLENDALE, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin baseball team dropped both games of a conference doubleheader to the Milwaukee School of Engineering on Wednesday afternoon. It marks the first time the Raiders have swept the Falcons since the 2022 season, though CUW still holds a 43-20 lead in the all-time series. The Falcons fall to 12-14 overall and 8-4 in NACC play.

GAME 1 | MSOE 12, Concordia Wisconsin 4
The Raiders took control early, scoring four runs in both the first and second innings to build a lead they would not relinquish.

The Falcons answered in the top of the second inning. Junior
Jason Valdez (Glendale Heights, Ill.) opened the frame with a single to shortstop but was later caught stealing. Junior
Luke Heinkel (Brookfield, Wis.) then drew a walk to bring freshman
Joe Landgraf (Hartford, Wis.)Â to the plate. After an eight-pitch at-bat, Landgraf launched his first collegiate home run over the right-field fence to cut into the deficit with a two-run shot.

CUW added two more runs in the third inning. Junior
Connor Lasch (Chicago, Ill.) began the inning with a double to right-center field. The Falcons later loaded the bases with a hit-by-pitch and a walk. Heinkel worked another walk to bring home a run, and Landgraf followed with an RBI single up the middle that prompted a pitching change by MSOE.

The Falcons recorded 10 hits in the game, with junior
Alex Ames (Plymouth, Wis.), freshman
Dylan Hein (Dyer, Ind.), Lasch, and Landgraf each collecting two. Landgraf led the offense, going 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a home run.

Freshman
Isaac Ziegler (Post Falls, Idaho) made the start on the mound for CUW, while freshmen
Jack Stuck (Bayside, Wis.) and
Nolan Sand (Mishicot, Wis.) appeared in relief. The trio combined for five strikeouts. Ziegler was charged with the loss, falling to 1-1 on the season.

GAME 2 | MSOE 10, Concordia Wisconsin 3
MSOE once again jumped out to an early lead and held the Falcons to three runs in the second game of the doubleheader.

CUW scored twice in the top of the third inning. Freshman
Cameron Bueno (Milwaukee, Wis.) brought home the first run with a sacrifice fly to center field, while the second run crossed the plate on a fielding error by the Raiders' left fielder.

The Falcons added another run in the fourth inning when sophomore
Graham Kasten (Mequon, Wis.) hit a solo home run over the right-center field fence. The long ball was Kasten's ninth of the season and the 17th of his collegiate career.

Freshman
Preston Regnier (Yorkville, Ill.) made the start on the mound for CUW. Freshmen
Russell Roodenburg (Scottsdale, Ariz.) and
Jackson Kobylarczyk (Jackson, Wis.) came in for relief, combining with Regnier for five strikeouts. Regnier was charged with the loss, dropping to 2-1 on the season.

The Falcons return to action Saturday with a home conference doubleheader against Benedictine at Kapco Park. First pitch is scheduled for noon, with game two set for 3 p.m.
