MEQUON, Wis. – There was plenty to celebrate on Friday afternoon for the Concordia Wisconsin baseball team. The Falcons brought out the brooms one last time in 2026 and swept away Wisconsin Lutheran with 3-2 and 10-5 victories. The wins secured the Falcons the fifth seed in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference at 13-9 and close the regular season at 19-19.
The Warriors took an early lead on Friday with a rare bases-loaded balk. In the second inning.
The Falcons tied the game in the fifth inning when junior Connor Lasch (Chicago, Ill.) snuck a single into the gap in left-center to send in junior Alex Ames (Plymouth, Wis.)
An outfield collision gave the Warriors the lead again in the sixth inning at 2-1.
The Falcons dusted themselves off and took the lead for good in the bottom of the inning.
Junior Jason Valdez (Glendale Heights, Ill.) tied the game on A double down the right-field line, plating freshman Cameron Bueno (Milwaukee, Wis.).
Valdez then scored the game-winning run on a close play at the plate.
Senior Nick Barksdale (Walnut Creek, Calif.) was sensational in the start and had seven strikeouts in his second win of the year.
Between games, the Falcons honored the senior class of 2026 with Drake Grod, Brandon McCray, Isaac Schmidt, Tyler Bartczak, Nick Barksdale, Blake Church, Anthony Buono, Nikolai Nawracaj, David Russ, Tyler Murray and Matt Miller.
The Falcons scored five runs in the second inning of game two.
Matt Miller (Fredonia, Wis.) and freshman Jack Anzelmo (Appleton, Wis.) scored on an error.
Brandon McCray (Corona, Calif.) singled through the left side of the infield to scored Jason Valdez.
Alex Ames then grounded out to third base to score Cameron Bueno.
Junior Luke Heinkel (Brookfield, Wis.) closed the second-inning scoring with a sacrifice fly to left field, deep enough for McCray to score.
The Warriors earned a run back in the fifth inning, but sophomore Graham Kasten (Mequon, Wis.) responded with a double down the right-field line to score Luke Heinkel. Jack Anzelmo later scored Kasten on a single to left field.
A double in the sixth inning scored two runs for the Warriors, but freshman Mick Vagner (Crown Point, Ind.) countered with a double of his own to plate Jason Valdez and then he scored on a sacrifice fly for Luke Heinkel.
Another double did damage for the Green and White in the seventh inning to score a run but the Falcons had the last laugh and scored in the eighth inning on a junior Hayden Reich (Sussex, Wis.) single that sent in Cameron Bueno.
Freshman Oliver Easton (West Bend, Wis.) earned his sixth win of the season and had two strikeouts in the victory.
Junior Lucas Kearney (Tinley Park, Ill.) had two strikeouts in the ninth inning to close the door.
The Falcons will travel to Illinois and compete in the NACC Baseball Tournament. The Falcons will face the host Eagles of Benedictine, who quailed at the eighth seed.
