Falcons Cap Season with Sixth-Place National Championship Finish

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin triathlon team completed another competitive campaign during the 2025 season, racing at four meets across four different states while continuing to gain valuable experience against some of the nation's top collegiate programs.
 
The Falcons opened the season on August 31 at the Geist Triathlon in Fishers, Indiana. Concordia began the year with a solid showing, led by Anya Mattke, who crossed the finish line in 28th place with a time of 1:19:15 to pace the Falcons in the season opener. 
 
After more than a month away from competition, Concordia returned to action for a two-day event hosted by Millikin University on October 3-4. The weekend began with the Millikin Splash and Dash, where the Falcons recorded their highest team finish of the season, placing fourth with 68 points. Keira Elliott led the way with an impressive 11th-place finish after completing the course at 25:18. The following day, Concordia competed in the Prairie State Cup, finishing 16th as a team with 140 points. Mattke once again led the Falcons, placing 82nd overall with a time of 1:24:48. 
 
The Falcons then traveled to Fort Worth, Texas, for the USA Triathlon West Regional Championships on October 26. Concordia earned a 13th-place team finish with 68 points. Sydney Morgen paced the Falcons, finishing 91st overall in 1:27:00.48. 
 
Concordia closed the 2025 campaign on November 8 at the USA Triathlon Collegiate National Championships in Tempe, Arizona. The Falcons saved one of their strongest team performances for the season finale, placing sixth overall with 78 points against a talented national field. Mattke once again led Concordia, finishing 164th overall with a time of 1:25:09.5. 
 
Throughout the season, the Falcons competed against challenging competitions while traveling to Indiana, Illinois, Texas, and Arizona. Concordia's fourth-place finish at the Millikin Splash and Dash highlighted the team's growth during the year, while its sixth-place finish at the USA Triathlon Collegiate National Championships provided a strong conclusion to the 2025 season.
