Falcons Put Together Strong 13-Win Campaign During 2025-26 Men's Tennis Season

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin men's tennis team pieced together another successful season in 2025-26, finishing with a 13-7 overall record and a 3-3 mark in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play. The Falcons placed fourth in the NACC regular season standings, advanced to the conference tournament semifinals, earned multiple postseason honors, and showcased consistent growth throughout the year. 
 
Concordia opened the fall portion of its schedule at the DePauw Invitational, where three Falcons recorded fifth-place finishes in their respective flights. Renan Botelho, Gustavo Funo, and Renan Revite each concluded the weekend with strong performances to begin the season on a positive note. 
 
The Falcons continued their fall slate at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships, where Hayden Latus highlighted the weekend by earning two victories in the ITA Singles Draw against some of the region's top competitions. 
 
The season quickly gained momentum as Concordia earned its first dual-match victory with a convincing 6-1 win over Lawrence. The Falcons continued to build confidence throughout the season, stringing together an impressive seven-match winning streak that helped position the team for another postseason appearance.
 
Latus was recognized early in the spring by being named the NACC Men's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week on February 4 following a strong start to the dual-match season. Later in the year, Murilo Zeni also collected conference weekly honors, earning NACC Student-Athlete of the Week recognition on March 10 after a series of standout performances. 
 
Conference play began with a challenging road matchup at St. Norbert. Zeni provided the Falcons' lone victory of the day, battling to a win at No. 2 singles over Ryan Garland. Concordia responded throughout the remainder of league play and finished the regular season on a high note by sweeping Wisconsin Lutheran 7-0 to close conference competition. 
 
The Falcons carried that momentum into the NACC Men's Tennis Tournament. Concordia opened postseason play with a dominant 4-0 victory over Edgewood in the quarterfinals before its season came to an end with a 4-0 loss to Illinois Tech in the tournament semifinals. 
 
Two Falcons were recognized for their outstanding individual seasons following the conclusion of conference play. Latus earned All-NACC Singles Team honors while Zeni also received All-NACC Singles Team recognition. The duo additionally teamed up to earn All-NACC Doubles Team honors after consistently producing one of the conference's top doubles pairings. 
 
Latus' success extended beyond the court as he was selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, recognizing his excellence both academically and athletically. 
 
With 13 dual-match victories, a seven-match winning streak, multiple conference award winners, three All-NACC selections, and another trip to the conference tournament semifinals, the Falcons once again established themselves as one of the NACC's top programs while laying a strong foundation for continued success.
