Men's Soccer Falls 3-2 at Dominican

MEQUON, Wis. - The Concordia University Wisconsin men's soccer team (1-7-1, 0-4 NACC) fell to the Dominican Stars (4-2-2, 2-1-2 NACC) 3-2 Wednesday night at West Campus Field.

The Falcons got on the board first when freshman defender James Ensaldo (Glendale, Wis.) headed home a cross from senior midfielder Carson Kelly (Fond du Lac, Wis.) in the 23rd minute to put his team up 1-0.

Concordia Wisconsin's defense remained strong throughout the rest of the frame, as the Birds still held the lead going into the locker room. They recorded four other shots in the period.

Late in the second half, Dominican's offense responded with three straight goals in the 69th, 77th and 79th minutes to earn a 3-1 advantage.

In the 84th minute, Ensaldo netted his second goal of the night from a pass from junior midfielder Jahsiah Acosta (Milwaukee, Wis.) to cut the deficit to one, but the Falcons could not find the back of the net for the remainder of the match.

Ensaldo's two goals were his first of the season and his collegiate career. Sophomore goalkeeper Logan Montgomery (McKinney, Texasa) started his second straight game, recording a season-high six saves in the match.

The Falcons will travel to Verona, Wisconsin to face Edgewood on Saturday at 1 p.m. CST.
