Schaumburg, IL
This doneybrook featured 44 hits and 37 runs as the Falcons won a
19-18 road thriller Saturday at Dominican.
No lead is safe this season so a 9 run first inning was just
what the doctor ordered for CUW. The Falcons had 9 hits in that
initial frame with Matt Schilter getting a double and two run homer
in that ONE inning.
It was 19-11 Concordia heading into the bottom of the 8th but
the Stars scored six times against CUW relievers to cut the deficit
to a single run.
The Falcon ace in the hole was staff ace Derrick Pankow who came
on in relief to record a pair of strikeouts with the tying run in
scoring position.
Concordia's Matt Mayer had 4 hits in this marathon while
Jonathon Olla, Matt Schilter, Ryan Schilter, and Dan Mueller each
added three. The win boosted Val Keiper's offensive juggernaut to
3-2 in the NAC and 8-7 overall.
