West Bend
Adam Martz' double off the wall scored Dan Shea with one out in
the bottom of the 10th to give Concordia a thrilling 4-3 win over
visitng Lakeland last evening in West Bend.
CUW combined 3 hits for a first inning run with Shea getting the
RBI. The score went to 2-0 in the 4th when Jonathon Olla doubled
and Martz singled him home.
Meanwhile Concordia ace Derrick Pankow was coasting along with a
2-0 lead heading into the Muskie 8th.
Lakeland scored three times after two were out in that inning to
grab the 3-2 lead which they held until two were out in the Falcon
9th.
Austin Sarauer was the man of the moment in that white knuckle
situation as his clutch single drove home David Enters from second
base with the game-tying tally. Enetrs had led off the inning with
a pinch hit single.
Reliever Matt Mayer got the win for CUW with two scoreless
innings of work.
Those dramatics set up a 10th inning which allowed Val Keiper's
club to imorve to 10-3 in NAC play while dropping the Muskies to
6-7 in the league. Shea, Olla, and Martz each had two of the
Falcon's 12 hits.
