Cougars Claw Baseball

RIVER FOREST, Ill. – The Concordia Wisconsin baseball team fell short on the road at Concordia Chicago on Saturday. The Cougars collected a 10-5 victory to send the Falcons to 14-11 on the year and to 6-5 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.

The Cougars struck first with the first three runs of the game.

Sophomore Josh Aguiniga (Chicago, Ill.) put the Falcons on the scoreboard with a triple into the gap in right-center field in the fourth inning that scored junior Jimmy Juergensen (Cedarburg, Wis.).

The Maroon and Gold added five more runs to extend the lead to 8-1.

The Falcons fought back with four runs in the eighth inning.

Senior Dillan Fike (Oak Lawn, Ill.) started the comeback with a bases-loaded walk that allowed freshman Matt Miller (Fredonia, Wis.) to trot across home plate.

A single from senior Daniel Hahn (Cudahy, Wis.) plated Jimmy Juergensen.

A sacrifice fly to right field from senior Sean Tillmon (Plainfield, Ill.) scored Josh Aguiniga.

A single to second base off the bat of senior Tristan Largent (Verona, Wis.) then scored Dilan Fike.

Sophomore Zach Slome (Schaumburg, Ill.) had two strikeouts in the start.

Game two was postponed until a later date due to the weather delay.

The Falcons look to bounce back on Sunday at home against St. Norbert.
