FORT WORTH, Texas – The Concordia Wisconsin triathlon team competed at the USA Triathlon West Regional Championships on Sunday. In a field from teams from NCAA Divisions I, II, III, the Falcons finished in 13th place as a team with 68 points. Of the Division III schools, the Falcons finished in third place. Arizona won the competition with all five of the top finishers.
The race included a 750-meter swim, 20-kilometer bike, and five-kilometer run.
Junior Sydney Morgen (Brandon, Wis.) led the flock in 91st place at 1:27:00.48. She started the day with a swim time of 16:06.26. She then posted time of 43:42.06 in the bike and 24:38.08 in the run.
In 93rd place was senior Nora Triller (Hartford, Wis.) at 1:28:23.32. Triller took the fastest CUW swim time of 13:37.82 and was at 44:57.56 in the bike and 27:02.45 in the run.
Junior Anya Mattke (Fox Point, Wis.) finished in 95th place at 1:29:07.84. She was clocked in at 14:02.26 in the swim, 44:18.75 in the bike and at 28:18.77 in the run.
Senior Darya Gunderman (Minneapolis, Minn.) crossed the finish line at 1:31:04.31 in 99th place. Gunderman began the day with a time of 16:27.78 in the swim. She followed that up with a bike race of 43:06.98 and a 28:51.13 run.
Junior Chloe Lemoine (Richfield, Wis.) was clocked in at 1:32:31.77 in 102nd place. She finished up her swim at 16:39.23 and posted a bike time of 44:40:08 before ending the day with a 28:10.43 run.
Junior Cadia Sanders (Joppa, Md.) secured 103rd place on Sunday at 1:32:54.10. The Maryland native opened the race with a 15:01.88 swim. She pressed on in the bike portion of the race at 45:17.58 and closed the day at 29:44.87 in the run.
Freshman Allison Triller (Hartford, Wis.) finished the swim at 15:01.34, but did not finish.
The Falcons close the year in November at the USA Triathlon Collegiate National Championships on Nov. 8 in Tempe, Arizona.
