PLYMOUTH, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin wrestling team began it's 2025-26 season at the Muskie Scramble Saturday. The Falcons had a young squad at the Scramble, with five of the 10 competitors being freshman. In the end, the Royal Blue and Grey had four finish in the top-three.
Freshman
Octavio Singh (Houston, Texas) took second at 285B after gathering seven points. Singh earned two wins by fall against Ethan Peper and Braden Vermeulen of Luther.
Freshman
Samuel Smith (Houston, Texas) also tied for second in the bracket with seven. Going undefeated in four matches, all of his wins were by fall. First up was Deacon Allen of UW-Oshkosh, followed by Nidal Farah (Luther), Brodie Smith (UW-Oshkosh) and Cooper Vincent (Carthage).
In the 124B division, freshman
Elijah Torres (Chicago, Ill.) placed second with seven points. Going 2-2 on the day. The freshman's wins were against Anthony Perez of Luther by fall and Dontre McClose of Carthage also by fall.
At 174B senior
Dawson Galvan (Chula Vista, Calif.) earned third with four points. Galvan's first match was against Brayden Woods of Luther, losing by decision, 3-6. The senior went on to beat Tucker Kemnitz of Carthage (9-7) by decision and Kyle Rasper of UW-Oshkosh (12-) by major decision.
Sophomore
Anastacio Martinez (Albuquerque, N.M.) competed in the 113A division placing fourth with two points. Martinez won his first match by tech fall (18-3) at 5:58 against UW-Oshkosh's Ryan Hanson. The sophomore went on to win by fall against Evan Glowinski of Carthage at 1:59. Martinez suffered his defeat against Sam Sirkoski of Harper by fall at 4:46.
In the 197A bracket senior
Ruben Vasquez (Westminster, Calif.) placed fourth with two points. Taking his first match just 54 seconds on the mat by fall against Jared Werner of Carthage. Vasquez went on to also beat Benjamin Helminski of Luther by tech fall at 6:37.
At 165B freshman
Hunter Burr (Cudahy, Wis.) took fifth with seven points. Going 1-2 on the day, Burr's sole win was by major decision, 13-3, over Anthony Megal of MSOE.
Sophomore
KeiKei Evans (San Antonio, Texas) competed in the 285A heavyweight bracket. Placing sixth with six points, Evans' two wins of the day was against Chris Gielow by a 7-2 decision and a forfeit.
Freshman
Noah Henderson (Hartland, Wis.) took eight at 149B with three points. Freshman
Jayden Anderson (Yuma, Ariz.) place 10th in 149A bracket.
The Falcons will return to Lakeland on Thursday No. 13th for a dual against the Muskies. Action is slated to begin at 7 p.m. in Plymouth at Woltzen Gymnasium.
