Weitzel Caps Season with Personal Best Performances

LA CROSSE, Wis. - Several members of the Concordia University Wisconsin women's track and field team delivered standout performances in their final meet of the season, with a personal and season-best mark highlighting the weekend.

At the Uncaged Eagle Open, junior Caitlyn Weitzel (Fallston, Md.) achieved a season-best in the pole vault, clearing 3.25 meters. The mark surpassed her previous season-high of 3.21 meters, set at the North Central College First Chance Meet on March 28.

Freshman Jacey Read (Carbondale, Colo.) had a strong showing at the Uncaged Eagle Open hosted by UW-La Crosse, competing in both the 100-meter and 200-meter sprints. In the 200-meter dash, Read clocked a time of 25.66 seconds, finishing 11th out of 49 competitors and earning the top spot among private school athletes.

In the 100-meter dash, Read recorded a time of 12.57 seconds, placing 20th in a competitive field of 42 runners.

With competition now complete, CUW will await the final results from meets across the country in hopes of qualifying an athlete for the NCAA Division III National Outdoor Championships.
