MEQUON, Wis. - The Concordia University Wisconsin Department of Athletics has named senior Timmy Brey of the men's cross country and track & field programs as the 2024–25 Male Athlete of the Year.
A senior from Cedarburg, Wisconsin, Brey delivered one of the most accomplished seasons in CUW distance running history. He became just the fourth runner in program history to qualify for the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships and the first since 2010, finishing 110th overall on the national stage. His time of 25:00.0 at the NCAA North Regional earned All-Region honors and stood as the fourth fastest 8K in program history. Earlier in the fall, he claimed the individual title at the Wisconsin Private College Championships and was the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) runner-up.
Brey continued his success on the track throughout the indoor and outdoor seasons. He was crowned NACC Champion in both the indoor 3,000-meter and outdoor 5,000-meter runs, clocking a career-best 14:40.98 in the outdoor finale. He also finished second in the indoor 5,000-meter and third in the indoor 3,000-meter, while setting the school record in the outdoor 3,000-meter with a time of 8:42.67 at the St. Norbert Invite.
One of CUW's most consistent performers across all three seasons, Brey helped the cross country team earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors with a 3.58 GPA. His leadership, championship results, and historic performances made him a cornerstone of the Falcons' distance program and a fitting recipient of this year's top individual athletic honor.
This week, the CUW Athletics department will continue the 2024–25 CUW Athletics Awards.
