ELMHURST, Ill. – The Concordia Wisconsin wrestling team dropped its first dual of 2026, falling 49-6 to Elmhurst on Saturday. The loss moves the Falcons to 2-6 in duals this season.
Sophomore
Anastacio Martinez (Albuquerque, N.M.) accounted for Concordia Wisconsin's lone points of the night with a pin at 133 pounds. Martinez took control early against Donovin Fields, working quickly to the mat before securing the fall at the 1:06 mark.
The dual opened at 125 pounds, where freshman
Elijah Torres (Chicago, Ill.) faced Alejandro Cordova. Cordova built an early lead with four takedowns, but Torres answered each with an escape. In the closing seconds of the first period, Cordova was able to earn the pin.
At 141, freshman
Noah Henderson (Hartland, Wis.) fell to Juan Villa by technical fall, and
Ben Kaus suffered a technical fall loss to Ryan Hinger at 149.
Freshman
Tyson Skubal (Menoqua, Wis.) got Concordia Wisconsin on the board early at 157 with a quick takedown against Nesser Hammouche, but Hammouche responded with a technical fall victory in the second period.
At 165, freshman
Hunter Burr (Cudhay, Wis.) was defeated by technical fall, 17-0, against Nicholas Assani.
Freshman
Kyle Sorenson (Union Grove, Wis.) battled Corey Bradley at 174, countering several takedowns with escapes before being pinned at the 3:40 mark of the second period.
A similar bout followed at 184, where
Dawson Galvan (Chula Vista, Calif.) recorded three escapes against Mataeo Blessing but ultimately fell by technical fall, 18-3.
The Falcons forfeited at 195 and 197 to conclude the dual.
Concordia Wisconsin will continue its weekend in Illinois with a road dual at Wheaton on Sunday. The match is scheduled to begin at noon at King Arena in Wheaton, Ill.
