Field Hockey Lands NFHCA Academic Honors

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin field hockey team was honored by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) was honored for their academic success in the classroom. The Falcons earned the NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award and had eight student-athletes named to the NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad.

The field hockey team was one of 78 NCAA Division III teams to claim the esteemed 2025 National Academic Team Award.

The honor is granted to programs that have achieved an exceptional team grade-point average of 3.50 or higher during the fall semester.

This is the fifth time that the Falcons have claimed the honor. Joining the 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 teams.

The Falcons landed eight student-athletes to the National Academic Squad.

Senior Katelyn Cardinale (Mount Laurel, N.J.) claimed the honor for all four years.

Sophomore Carlijn van der Bend (Voorburg, Netherlands) earned the honor for the second-straight season.

The squad of freshman Charlie Coln (St. Louis, Mo.), junior Leah Mouganis (Pittsburgh, Pa.), senior Katie Quirke (Antioch, Ill.), junior Emily Robertson (Canton, Mich.), freshman Bente Scheeres (Noordwijk, Netherlands) and junior Bella Vandeloecht (St. Louis, Mo.) are all earning the honor for the first time.

The NFHCA recognized more than 1,800 student-athletes from 147 institutions named to the 2025 Division III National Academic Squad.

Sponsored by OPA Winning Teams, the NFHCA National Academic Squad program honors undergraduate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher through the fall semester, nominated by their NFHCA member coaches.
