SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Concordia Wisconsin acrobatics & tumbling team hit the road for the first time this season, taking on No. 5 Augustana on Saturday. The Falcons improved their top score of the year by more than seven points and now sit at 1-2 overall following a 267.585-219.720 decision.
The Falcons opened the meet with a season-best 29.90 in the compulsory event, posting top marks of the year in the acro, pyramid and toss heats.
Concordia added 22.80 points in the acro event before tallying 26.65 in the pyramid. In the toss, CUW recorded a season-high 25.30 points, earning season-best scores in all three heats, including 8.95 out of a possible 9.0 in the open toss.
The Falcons continued their momentum in tumbling, soaring to a season-best 40.45 points while reaching new season highs in six of the seven heats.
Concordia closed the afternoon with its top team event score of the year, earning 74.62 points.
The Falcons return to action on March 13 at Trine, where they will face the Thunder and East Texas Baptist.
