Falcons Crush Calvin on Senior Night

MEQUON, Wis. – There was a lot to celebrate on Friday night for the Concordia Wisconsin acrobatics and tumbling team. The Falcons soared to 4-2 on the season with a 210.260 to 115.450 victory over Calvin in another Division III battle.

The Falcons celebrated the amazing quintet of Emily Ruka (Racine, Wis.), Jadyn Vail (Belvidere, Ill.), Ainslee Taylor (Alto, Mich.), Emma Pawlak (West Milwaukee, Wis.) and MariaDelCarmen Betancourt (Miami, Fla.) after the contest to celebrate the final home meet for the senior class.

The Falcons opened the evening with 26.900 points in the compulsory event to take an early lead. CUW posted a season-best score in the acro heat at 6.70 points.

Concordia built a bigger lead with a season-best 25.05 points in the acro heat. The five-element heat hit a season-best 8.15 points and the seven-element heat had a season-best score of 9.35 points.

The Blue and White had 25.00 points in the pyramid and had a season-best performance in the inversion pyramid at 9.1 points. The open pyramid soared once again to 9.90 points.

The Birds elevated the lead with 23.10 points in the toss event.

CUW poured onto the lead with 38.35 points in the tumbling event. Th aerial pass picked up a season-best 7.55 points with Ainslee Taylor.

The Falcons closed the day with 71.86 points.

Concordia Wisconsin closes the regular season next Saturday at Adrian.
