MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin acrobatics & tumbling team continues to have the honors roll in. On Wednesday afternoon, the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) released its Student-Athlete of the Week honors and once again the Falcons landed an honoree.
A senior top from Racine, Wisconsin, Emily Ruka was voted as the NCATA Division III Specialist of the Week after defeating Calvin on Friday night.
Ruka was nominated for her performance in the open pyramid, where she helped the Falcons record a 9.9 for the second-straight week.
This is the second time this season that she has claimed the honor. The first came on Feb. 15 for her performance against Trine.
In total, the Falcons have claimed five weekly honors, after sweeping the honors on March 18 with senior Ainslee Taylor at athlete, Gabby Dixon as specialist and Frankie Evitch as freshman.
Mary Hardin Baylor took the other two honors on Wednesday with Natalie Podsednik as the Athlete of the Week and Claire Willis as the Freshman of the Week.
The Falcons close the regular season on Saturday at Adrian.
