MEQUON, Wis. – The honors continue to roll in for the Concordia Wisconsin women's lacrosse team. On Wednesday morning, the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) announced its Student-Athlete of the Week honors for women's lacrosse. Another Falcon was honored as the league's athletic communications professional voted Naomi Black as the NACC Defensive Player of the Week.
A junior defender from Ottawa, Ontario, Naomi Black is claiming the honor for the first time.
The pride of Ontario started the week with six caused turnovers in the victory at North Central. She also had four ground balls, two draw controls and her first collegiate goal.
Against Carroll, Black brought in her first career assist, with two caused turnovers, two ground balls and a draw control.
Nicolina Smith of Aurora was selected as the NACC Offensive Player of the Week.
This is the second time this season that a Falcon has claimed the honor. Junior Emily Robertson did so on March 8. Senior Katelyn Cardinale was also named the NACC Offensive Player of the Week on March 8 and 13.
Black and the Falcons will face Aurora on Wednesday night in Montgomery, Illinois.
