Hansberger and McGown Named All-Americans

MEQUON, Wis. – Thursday evening marks a historic milestone for the Concordia Wisconsin women's hockey program, as Mackaylan McGown and Abby Hansberger were named CCM Hockey/AHCA All-Americans for the 2025–26 season. The duo becomes the first All-America selections in program history.

The CCM Hockey/AHCA All-American teams are sponsored by CCM Hockey and selected by members of the American Hockey Coaches Association.

"It means a lot to have the first two players in our program's history earn All-American status," said head coach Steve Fabiilli. "It speaks to Mackaylan and Abby's commitment and the work ethic they bring every single day, but it also reflects the growth of our entire team. This isn't just an individual honor—it belongs to everyone in the locker room. It shows how far we've come as a program and sets a new standard for what's possible moving forward."

Both McGown and Hansberger earned spots on the All-American West Second Team.

Hansberger, a freshman forward from Elk River, Minnesota, delivered a sensational debut season. She shattered the program record with 46 points, tallying 19 goals and a program-best 27 assists. Hansberger recorded five game-winning goals against MSOE, Lake Forest, Wisconsin-Stevens Point, Beloit, and Lake Forest, and posted two hat tricks against Wisconsin-Stevens Point and St. Norbert.

She also turned in a season-best four-point performance (one goal, three assists) against Aurora. Nationally, Hansberger ranked sixth in assists per game (1.00) and points per game (1.68), while tying for sixth in game-winning goals with five.

"I am humbled and honored to be named an All-American," said Hansberger. "While it is a huge personal accomplishment, it's also a reflection of the hard work and dedication of my teammates. This award wouldn't be possible as a freshman without the culture of our program at CUW. A huge thank you to my coaches, teammates, and family for their unconditional love and support."

McGown, a junior forward from Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, also put together a standout campaign as one of the nation's top centers. She recorded 37 points, including a program-record 20 goals along with 17 assists.

McGown scored five game-winning goals against Trine, MSOE, Wisconsin-Stevens Point, Lawrence, and Marian, and added the team's lone shorthanded goal of the season against Beloit. She dominated the faceoff circle, winning 401 draws—leading the nation—and ranked 11th nationally in goals per game (0.71).

"Being named an All-American means so much to me," said McGown. "It's a huge honor, and I'm super excited about it. I'm extremely proud of my teammates and the season we had together. This program is something special, and I'm really grateful to be a part of it."

The duo played a pivotal role in one of the most successful seasons in program history, as the Falcons finished with a program-best 24-3-1 record and placed second in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association.
