Falcons Earn NACC Crown and First-Ever Home NCAA Playoff Game During Landmark Season

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin football team delivered one of the most successful seasons in program history in 2025, capturing a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championship, hosting the program's first NCAA Division III Football Championship home game, and earning numerous individual and team honors. 
 
Entering the season, the Falcons were predicted to finish fourth in the NACC preseason poll. Instead, Concordia exceeded expectations and established itself as the conference's top team, finishing with a 9-2 overall record and a perfect 8-0 mark in conference play to claim the NACC Championship and the league's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division III Football Playoffs. 
 
The Falcons' championship run featured several memorable moments throughout the season. On September 20, Concordia captured the Lutheran Cup with a thrilling 27-20 victory over Wisconsin Lutheran. Three weeks later, the Falcons claimed the Cheese Bowl Trophy in dramatic fashion, defeating Lakeland 41-34 in overtime on October 11. 
 
Concordia closed out the regular season on November 15 with a dominant 35-0 shutout victory over Eureka. The win secured the NACC's automatic bid to the NCAA Playoffs and completed the program's undefeated conference season. 
 
The Falcons' success was recognized across the conference, with 17 student-athletes earning All-NACC honors. Leading the way was Marquiton Sellers, who was named the NACC Defensive Lineman of the Year while earning First Team All-NACC recognition. 
 
Seven Falcons earned First Team All-NACC honors, including Sellers, Roman Funk, Jason Leonard, Jack Bradley, Luis Arellano, Ben Birch, and Devin Glowicki.
 
Second Team All-NACC selections included Kyle Bortz, Kenneth Thompson Jr., Kadin Huisinga, Duncan Ireland III, and Omari Waldron. 
 
Nick Crowell, Khalil Hargrove-Collins, and Kam'Ron Pierre were recognized as All-NACC Honorable Mention selections. 
 
The coaching staff was also honored for guiding the Falcons to the conference championship. Greg Etter and his staff were named the NACC Coaching Staff of the Year, while Curran White earned NACC Assistant Coach of the Year honors. 
 
Concordia's historic season continued into the NCAA Division III Football Playoffs. The Falcons hosted their first-ever NCAA Division III Football playoff game before concluding their season against No. 24-ranked Coe College. 
 
The Falcons received recognition beyond conference honors as well. Etter was selected as the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association Private School Coach of the Year, while Sellers was named the WFCA Private School Defensive Player of the Year. 
 
At the regional level, Concordia earned two D3football.com All-Region 5 selections. Leonard was voted to the First Team, while Glowicki earned Third Team recognition. 
 
Success extended into the classroom as Funk was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team. Additionally, Bortz, Tyson Fish, Johnny Kutner, and Leonard were recognized by the National Football Foundation, earning selection to the NFF Hampshire Honor Society. 
 
The Falcons were also celebrated in the 2025-26 Concordia University Wisconsin Athletics Awards. Etter was named the Locke Family Coach of the Year, while Sellers received the Male Career Achievement Award after an outstanding collegiate career. 
 
From preseason underdogs to conference champions, the 2025 Falcons produced a season filled with championships, trophies, individual accolades, and historic milestones. Their NACC title, undefeated conference record, and first-ever NCAA Division III home playoff game marked a memorable chapter in Concordia Wisconsin football history and set a strong foundation for continued success in the years ahead.
