Jordin Popp Named NACC Women’s Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week

MEQUON, Wis. - Freshman Jordin Popp was named the Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference (NACC) Student-Athlete of the Week for women's tennis on Wednesday morning, as voted on by the league's athletic communications professionals.

Popp and freshman Taylor Peterson swept Concordia Chicago, 6-0, at the No. 1 doubles spot in Concordia Wisconsin's first match of the day on Saturday in River Forest, Illinois.

At singles, the Manitowoc, Wisconsin native defeated CUC's Amelia Engelman 6-1 at the No. 1 position as the Falcons won 7-0 against the Cougars.

Later that day, the Falcons traveled to Chicago, Illinois to face Illinois Tech, the reigning NACC champion and projected winner of the conference this season.

Popp and Peterson defeated the Scarlet Hawks, 6-1, at the No. 1 doubles spot, and Popp earned a key 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 1 singles to put the Falcons on track to earn a 5-2 victory for their second win of the day.

This marks the first time in Popp's career that she has earned this honor.

Concordia Wisconsin will travel to Green Bay, Wisconsin to face St. Norbert on Sept. 19 at 1 p.m. CST.
