MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Esports Call of Duty team made history Friday night, securing the program's first-ever Call of Duty Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Grand Finals Championship.
For CUW Esports, this marked the first national title since 2023, when the Concordia University Wisconsin Rainbow Six Siege team took home the crown.
The Falcons completed their utterly dominant season with a 4-0 victory over Michigan Tech to secure the national title, winning all maps in the championship round. Throughout the season, the Falcons compiled a perfect 10-0 record and won all 32 maps they played this year.
"I'm so incredibly proud of this team," said head coach Jack Slater. "To not only win a national title, but to do it without dropping a single map all season is just unbelievable. They made history, and they earned every bit of it."
"We went into the season with high hopes, and to finish it undefeated with a 32-0 map count is something truly special," said team captain Aziz "Metty" Mrioued. "Winning the ECAC Call of Duty Championship is a moment I'll never forget, and it wouldn't have been possible without the dedication and hard work of every single one of my teammates. Each player brought something unique to the table and played a crucial role in our success—this victory belongs to all of us, and I wouldn't want to win it with anyone else."
The CUW Esports program will continue to battle for national titles as the Valorant team will face off against Roosevelt University on Tuesday, April 15th.
