CUW Esports Teams Gear Up for Grand Finals

MEQUON, Wis. - As the spring season winds down, the Concordia University Wisconsin Esports team is gearing up for an exciting playoff push, with two national championships within their grasp.

This Friday, April 11th, the CUW Call of Duty team will take on Michigan Tech in the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Grand Finals. Then, on Tuesday, April 15th, the Valorant team will face off against Roosevelt University in their own Grand Finals battle.

Both teams enter their respective finals with perfect, undefeated records, and as the top seeds in their tournaments. "The potential for two national championships is absolutely incredible. The most impressive part of this run is the fact that Call of Duty has not lost a single map. It has just been absolute dominance. Likewise, Valorant only lost two maps total, it has just been nothing but focus for the boys," said head coach Jack Slater reflecting on the teams' remarkable performances.

Meanwhile, CUW's Overwatch team will head to Stevens Point for the Wisconsin Esports Conference (WEC) Regional Tournament, where they'll compete as the number-one seed, eager to make a deep run.

The Falcons are on the brink of history, with the chance to claim two National Championships in a single season, something never before achieved in the program's history. Additionally, CUW aims to capture its first national title since 2023, when the Concordia University Wisconsin Rainbow Six Siege team took home the crown.
