Acrobatics & Tumbling Broke Some Records in 2025

MEQUON, Wis. - The Concordia University Wisconsin acrobatics & tumbling team capped off a historic 2025 campaign with a 6-3 overall record, earning a spot in the NCATA Division III Invitational Semifinals and setting a new program benchmark for the best start in team history. Under the direction of first-year head coach Caitlin Lowery, the Falcons showcased championship-caliber form.

CUW opened the year with a commanding 228.175–223.030 win over Trine, snapping a five-meet losing streak in the series. The Falcons built early momentum with strong compulsory and toss performances and never looked back. In their next meet, the Falcons soared past both Buffalo State and Adrian, posting the highest score in all six events and improving to 3-0 for the first time since 2021.

A dominant 216.390–176.940 victory over Calvin at home pushed the Falcons to a 4-0 record, tying the second-most wins in a single season. One week later, CUW routed Adrian for the second time in a month, cruising to a 213.890–130.325 result and reaching a program-best 5-0 start. That win also marked the third time in team history that CUW recorded five victories in a season.

The Falcons' undefeated streak came to an end in a narrow road battle at Trine, falling by just 0.925 points in a meet that featured season-best scores in multiple heats. CUW closed the regular season at nationally ranked Augustana, where they delivered a season-high 42.200 points in the tumbling event and held their own in the team round, finishing with a strong 77.820.

With a 5-2 regular season record, the Falcons earned the No. 3 seed at the NCATA Division III Invitational in Buffalo, New York. In the quarterfinals, CUW dismantled Buffalo State 226.090–186.150, tallying season-high scores in the pyramid and tumbling events and advancing to the national semifinals for the third consecutive season. Against Texas Lutheran, the Falcons delivered their best performance of the year in the compulsory event and set new highs in trio, aerial, and six-element tumbling passes before falling 237.875–227.810.

CUW capped its 2025 run by qualifying for six event finals at the national level — the most in program history — and placing three student-athletes on the NCATA All-Tournament Team. Senior Lexie Pfeifle (Macomb, Mich.) and senior Amanda Owens (Stevens Point, Wis.) earned First Team honors, while junior Jadyn Vail (Belvidere, Ill.) landed on the Second Team. Four Falcons were also named to the NCATA Division III All-Academic Team: Ellen Marie Sanders (Joppa, Md.), Ainslee Taylor (Alto, Mich.), Jadyn Vail, and Amanda Owens.

The 2025 senior class — Owens, Pfeifle, Sanders, Miranda Maciejewski, and Madisen Arendt (Waukesha, Wis.) — finished their careers as the winningest in program history with 18 total victories and the 2022 NCATA Division III national title to their name.

Following the season, Caitlin Lowery had the interim tag removed and was officially named the program's head coach. Her debut season saw not only competitive success but academic excellence, with 11 Falcons named to the NCATA Academic Honor Roll.

With acrobatics & tumbling on the verge of achieving full NCAA Championship status and a strong core set to return, the Falcons are primed to remain a national contender in 2026.
