MEQUON, Wis. – On Friday morning, the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) announced its Women's Hockey Player of the Month for January. The conference announced Mackaylan McGown as the honoree for her performances for the month.
A junior center from Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, Mackaylan McGown is the first Falcon to claim the honor.
McGown scored 17 points in January with a conference-best eight goals and her nine assists.
The pride of Inver Grove Heights had five multi-point performances, including two four-point performances against Beloit and Aurora.
She also notched a power-play goal at Aurora and a shorthanded goal against Beloit. McGown also had the game-winning goal against Lawrence.
McGown also won over 58 percent of her faceoffs and led the flock with 108 victories.
The Falcons posted an 8-0-1 record in the month of January.
McGown and the Falcons return to action on Friday night against No. 9 Adrian.
