DUBUQUE, Iowa - The CUW men's track and field team headed to Iowa to compete in the Dubuque Spartan Invite on Saturday afternoon.
The Falcons finished in seventh place with 10 points. Dubuque led the event with 232 points.
In the 60-meter dash, freshman Nick Taylor (West Bend, Wis.) led the blue and white with a 25th-place finish at 7.68 seconds. In 31st and 32nd place were freshman Carson Wolford (Rushmore, Minn.) and sophomore Matthew Torres (Von Ormy, Texas) respectively with times of 7.85 and 7.88 seconds.
The 200-meter dash featured four Falcons. Senior Dane Tischendorf (Antigo, Wis.) led the pack with a 16th-place finish at 24.53 seconds. In 27th place, Taylor finished with a time of 25.38. Junior Colin Rerecich (Henderson, Nev.) finished in 30th place with a time of 25.90 seconds. Torres was close behind with a 31st-place finish at 26.08 seconds.
Tischendorf led the 400-meter dash for the Falcons with a 12th-place finish and a time of 53.46 seconds. Senior Konnor Kingsmore (Colorado Springs, Colo.) finished in finished with a time of 55.84 and a 23rd-place finish. Just behind him were junior Josh Peterson (Palatine, Ill.) and Rerecich with 24th and 25th-place finishes and times of 56.23 seconds and 57.20 seconds. In 28th and 29th place were senior Paul Witto (Charleston, Ill.) and freshman Mason Kinney (Red Bud, Ill.) with times of 57.95 and 1:00.40.
Junior Ryan Klug (Arlington, Va.) was the lone Falcon in the 800-meter run and finished with a time of 2:21.97 and in 19th place.
The 3,000-meter run saw junior Tim Brey (Cedarburg, Wis.) find the podium with a third-place finish and a time of 8:46.91.
Sophomore Bernie Van Den Heuvel (Valders, Wis.) competed in the 60-meter hurdles and finished in fifth place with a time of 9.15.
The pole vault saw sophomore Nate Waech (West Bend, Wis.) post a mark of 3.90 meters and finish in eighth place.
Kingsmore led the Blue and White in the long jump with a seventh-place finish with a jump of 5.90 meters. In eighth place was senior Isaac Zahrt (Kronenwetter, Wis.) with a jump of 5.86 meters. Taylor rounded out the Blue and White in 11th place with a jump of 5.35 meters.
Senior Seth Day (Sunset Hills, Mo.) led the Falcons in the shot put with a throw of 12.84 meters and a ninth-place finish. Sophomore Mitchell Moeller (Cedarburg, Wis.) was close behind with a throw of 12.82 meters and a 10th-place finish. Senior Theodore Ryder (Denver, Colo.) finished in 25th place with a throw of 10.90 meters. With a 27th-place finish and a throw of 10.78 meters was sophomore Jacob Couillard (Kingsford, Mich.). Freshmen John Kutner (Muskego, Wis.) and Nicholas Chiappetta (Lenexa, Kas.) finished in 32nd place and 34th place with throws of 9.23 meters and 8.14 meters.
Moeller led the weight throw with an 18th-place finish and a throw of 12.20 meters. Close behind him was Ryder with a throw of 11.43 meters and a 22nd-place finish. Day and Chiappetta rounded out the Blue and White with throws of 11.04 meters and 10.56 meters for 23rd and 26th-place finishes.
The Falcons will compete in the Ripon Red Hawk Invite on Feb. 4.
