MEQUON, Wis. – The honors came rolling in for the Concordia Wisconsin football team on Tuesday morning. The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) announced its weekly Student-Athletes of the Week honors and the league's athletic communications professionals voted Roman Funk as the NACC Offensive Player of the Week and Logan Hartman the Defensive Player of the Week. D3Football.com also named Funk to the National Team of the Week.
A sophomore quarterback from Scottsdale, Arizona, Roman Funk is claiming both honors for the first time in his career.
Funk soared to new heights in the Falcons' 54-45 victory at Aurora where he threw for a career-best 478 yards, seven touchdowns, and a two-point conversion. He also rushed for 22 yards and a touchdown. The seven touchdown passes are a program record, passing Aaron Nixon in 2015 and Herb Pundsack in 1992 at six. The 478 passing yards ranks third on CUW's single-game list, and the 50 points responsible for is a program record.
A freshman linebacker from Winter Garden, Florida, Logan Hartman is also claiming the honor for the first time.
He stuffed the stat sheet at Aurora, where he intercepted a pass and recovered a fumble for 15 yards. Hartman also had four tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss.
Brett Money of Aurora was voted as the NACC Special Teams Player of the Week.
This is the first time a Falcon was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week this season.
Funk is the ninth Falcon to claim a selection, joining Austin Damaschke in 2013, Eric Hamilton twice in 1999, Justice Kaneta and Marquiton Sellers in 2023, Cedric Simmons twice in 2002, Mike Steinmetz in 2006 and Logan Navis and Gio Nowotarski in 2024.
