MEQUON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Football Coaches Association announced its 2025 Private College Awards. The Falcons flew away with two of the five awards. Senior defensive lineman Marquiton Sellers was voted as the WFCA Private School Defensive Player of the Year and Greg Etter was voted as the WFCA Private School Coach of the Year.
Marquiton Sellers
A senior defensive lineman from Winnsboro, Louisiana, Sellers is claiming the honor for the first time. In November, he was also named the NACC Defensive Lineman of the Year. Sellers silenced offenses this season with 57 tackles on the year finishing with 18 tackles for a loss and 6.5 sacks. He also blocked three kicks on the year.
"This is a well deserved honor for Marquiton," said head coach Greg Etter. "He had an incredible season and it is great to see him get honored for all of his hard work."
This is the fourth time under coach Etter that a Falcon has been honored. In 2012 and 2013 his quarterback, Austin Damaschke, was selected as the Wisconsin Private School Player of the Year, while linebacker Justice Kaneta earned the honor in 2023.
Greg Etter
Greg Etter helped lead the Falcons to their best finish in over a decade and was named the WFCA Private College Coach of the Year for the second time in his career. He also claimed the honor in 2013. Etter led the Falcons to a 9-2 season, where he was also named the NACC Coaching Staff of the year after the Falcons climbed the NACC ladder to a perfect 8-0 record in conference play.
The other three honorees were Robby Michael of Lakeland for offense, Drew Mears of Wisconsin Lutheran for Special Teams and Mariano Talamantez of Carthage as the Freshman of the Year.
The honorees will be honored by the WFCA in 2026. The banquet is Sunday, February 1st, in the Lambeau Field Atrium in Green Bay.
