MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Athletics Department has announced the appointment of Ricki Budewitz as interim head coach of the tennis programs.

"We are excited to have one our best tennis players in our tennis history step up to lead our program, said Interim Director of Athletics Stacey Brunner-Jones. "We are thrilled to have Ricki lead our tennis programs. Her experience in tennis and as an assistant coach gives her the experience to lead our program and help us compete at a championship level."

Ricki Budewitz is in her third season with the Concordia University Wisconsin tennis program, after serving as an assistant coach the past two season.

"I'm excited to embrace a new chapter of my career at CUW," said Ricki Budewitz. "As a proud Falcon alum, it is a privilege to have the opportunity to build on the success of this program. I'd like to thank Stacey Brunner Jones, Interim Athletic Director, for her trust in me to lead the CUW tennis program forward. I also want to thank Coach Steve Anschutz for the history and standard of success he instilled during his time with the program. CUW Tennis gave me my greatest college memories, and I'm thrilled to step into this role and for the opportunity to be part of this next generation's experience."

She is one of the most decorated student-athletes in program history, Budewitz brings a championship pedigree and strong leadership. During her playing career, she was a two-time NACC Player of the Year and earned All-NACC honors in both singles and doubles all six seasons she competed.

Budewitz played a pivotal role in CUW's recent success, helping guide the Falcons to three NACC Tournament championships and two regular season titles.
